    You will learn about the key milestones in the history of Pride, including the first Pride parades and the development of the Pride flag, and how these events have influenced the LGBTQ+ community and the world at large.

  • This is a well-rounded alternative to presenting your staff with the traditional lecture on pronouns and trans identity. Through on-screen images, audio interviews, and personal narratives, queer+trans-identified photographer Jesse Freidin and I will spark a thoughtful dialogue about trans rights in America, and how your community can become more welcoming and effective allies. This presentation uses storytelling to uncover themes of strength, joy, and survival and encourages the audience to reflect on their own commitment to social justice.   • Navigating Gendered Language with Confidence and Respect helps participants develop a better understanding of gender identity, sexual orientation, the importance of pronouns, and how to use them properly. During this workshop, attendees will have an opportunity to explore and acknowledge the abundance of gender identities and expressions within your community, including people who are gender non-conforming (GNC) and trans people. We will also discuss what to do when we make mistakes, the positive effects of support, and have an opportunity for Q&A with a gender specialist. This can be done as a 60-minute session though 90 minutes is recommended.

Clinical Training

Trainings provide practical tools and strategies to enhance your LGBTQ+ cultural humility skills, allowing you to provide more effective and compassionate clinical care to your clients. Through interactive sessions and case studies, you will learn how to recognize and address implicit biases, communicate effectively with diverse populations, and build trust and rapport with your clients and families.

  • This presentation will address current understanding sexual identity terminology including non-binary identities and how this informs clinical practice. Exercises in exploration and analysis of measures of sexual identity, how these can be implemented in a clinical setting, increasing cultural competency and allowing for clients of diverse sexual identities to access care in a wider variety of settings.
